What Apprenticeships do we offer?

We provide Apprenticeships in Level 2 and 3 for the following courses:

  • Groundworks
  • Plant Operations
  • Highways and Maintenance.

These are awarded by various bodies including City & Guilds, SQA & Pearson.

Who can apply?

  • Learners must be at least 16 years old to apply to be an apprentice.
  • Learners must live in Wales.
  • The apprenticeship programme is funded by the Welsh Government, but the employer will need to find the wages for the apprentice.

Benefits

  • All apprentices are in full-time employment.
  • All apprentices receive at least the minimum wage, with the potential to earn more.
  • By working as an apprentice, a nationally recognised industry qualification is achieved.
  • Not only will an apprentice earn, but they will gain hands-on experience learning new skills to commence a career in construction.
  • Employers can upskill workers, expand their team and support their succession plan.

Course details

  • Our apprenticeships last up to 3 years and the learner will be employed by a company in the construction sector.
  • An apprentice will have both theory and practical experience at our sites across south Wales as well as work based learning and practical assessments.
  • The course will typically work on the basis that the apprentice will undertake their normal job role four days a week and training with The Construction Hub Academy one day a week.
  • On successful completion of the apprenticeship the learner will receive their relevant accreditation which can then be used to apply for a Skilled worker CSCS card.
