Derek has over 40 years’ experience in the plant and construction industry commencing his career as an operator and moving on to site foreman. He made the change into training over 15 years ago and gained all the necessary qualifications to be an external verifier as well as a tester.
He helped set up the company’s Streetworks course which sets out the procedures and guidelines for personnel employed by local authorities, utilities companies and their contractors for the purpose of any road works in highways or footpaths.
Derek enjoys his job immensely as it allows him to meet new people every day. He particularly enjoys the challenge of tailoring each course to candidates’ needs, as he understands that not everyone learns in a prescribed way.
