Matthew has a wealth of experience within the rail industry.

As an apprenticeship assessor Matthew will support, assess, and guide apprentices through their vocational training. As an Apprenticeship Assessor, he is responsible for assessing apprentices' progress, providing feedback, and ensuring that they meet the required standards and competencies for their qualifications. He works closely with employers, apprentices, to ensure high-quality training delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess Apprentices: Conduct regular assessments of apprentices' work and performance in the workplace to ensure that they are meeting the required standards and competencies for their apprenticeship programs.
  • Support Apprentices: Provide constructive feedback and guidance to apprentices on their progress and areas for improvement. Offer support to ensure their personal and professional development.
  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of apprentice progress, assessments, and outcomes. This includes maintaining appropriate documentation and submitting reports as required.
  • Liaise with Employers: Work closely with employers to monitor apprentices' progress and ensure they are receiving appropriate training and support in the workplace.
  • Deliver Training: Where appropriate, deliver workshops, training sessions, and individual coaching to apprentices to help them develop the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.
  • Monitor Compliance: Ensure that apprentices are adhering to the standards and regulations of their apprenticeship program. This includes checking for compliance with health and safety, legal requirements, and company policies.
  • Review Apprentice Portfolios: Review evidence submitted by apprentices, such as workbooks, projects, and assignments, to assess learning progress and achievements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep up to date with industry trends, apprenticeship standards, and best practices. Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the improvement of apprenticeship programs.
